This year I have decided to spent my holidays with my family at the Azores Islands, the most western part of the Paleartic (WP).
Since many years I wished to visit the Azores for their nature beauties and as BW to see the Neartic species, but each time due to different reasons I did not had the opportunity to visit them.
 
This year my dream came true finally, during our holiday from 13th to 31st August we visited 2 islands Terceira and São Miguel, we would have  liked to visit a 3rd one (either Pico or Santa Maria) but unfortunately we could not.
 
Our stay was wonderful from every point of view : extraordinary nature beauty, amazing landscapes, delicious food and wine (Douro tinto is excellent), very friendly people however for a birder the best thing to see are of course birds.

On 31st August we had to come back to Italy and with big sorrow we had to leave the Azores, but we promised ourselves we will go back as soon as possible. We are in Italy  however our hearts and minds keep staying in that paradise on earth.
 
 
We had the opportunity to meet Carlos Pereira and Cecilia Melo with whom we shared nice moments, thank you very much.
